I may have to order some updated vital records from the Municipal Archives.Emily Garberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04728999439188446783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2445639686053980930.post-79399789153345776252015-05-28T09:22:08.115-07:002015-05-28T09:22:08.115-07:00Just got a 1911 wedding certificate from the new d...Just got a 1911 wedding certificate from the new digital era NYC municipal archives efforts. It came very quickly , was very sharp in detail and in color. Quite a contrast with an request a few months earlier for a 1940 death certificate which took forever to arrive and was a low resolution greyish mess.Michael Marshall https://www.blogger.com/profile/11630172571231508804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2445639686053980930.post-29664041764531345772015-04-25T08:02:55.408-07:002015-04-25T08:02:55.408-07:00Sweet! There are documents, such Ellis Island manifests, that would benefit from analysis in color. Unfortunately, once microfilmed, the originals were destroyed. The text seemed easier to read than normal and each of the half dozen different inks and pencils used were clearly separated. It made a normally sad document look alive, despite being 80 years old and brought this little reminder of an ancient matriarch into the present.Michael Marshall https://www.blogger.com/profile/11630172571231508804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2445639686053980930.post-41920970524327516732015-04-25T03:59:27.327-07:002015-04-25T03:59:27.327-07:00Definitely.
